
Hermen Hulst
The Biography
Hermen Hulst is a Dutch video game producer and executive who serves as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Studio Business Group since June 2024, and president and CEO of PlayStation Studios since November 2019. Prior to PlayStation Studios, Hulst was the managing director and studio head of Guerrilla Games, a first-party game development studio under SIE. Hulst was a co-founder of Guerrilla Games, having been hired from the consulting firm Andersen Consulting in 2001. Under his leadership, Guerrilla was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2005, and the studio worked on numerous titles within the Killzone game series before pivoting to the Horizon franchise in 2017. In 2011, Hulst was made vice president of PlayStation Studios (then called Worldwide Studios) under Shuhei Yoshida, before succeeding Yoshida eight years later. Under Hulst's leadership, PlayStation Studios worked through the final years of the PlayStation 4 and the first half of the PlayStation 5's lifespan. In June 2024, Hulst and fellow executive Hideaki Nishino were promoted as joint chief executive officers of SIE.
