Kaj Kunnas, born March 23, 1963 in Pyhäjärvi U.L., Finland, is a Finnish-Swedish sports journalist. Kunnas worked as a sports journalist at YLE from 1989 to 2017. Kunnas worked for YLE in Swedish sports until 2012. From the beginning of 2012, he moved to Yle Sporten in Finnish (Yle Urheilu). Kunnas commented on the hockey championships until 2011 in Swedish. In the 2014 Winter Olympics, Kunnas commented on women's ice hockey in Finnish. He also commented on some matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Finnish. Kunnas often presented Yle’s Sports Weekend Broadcasts. He has also been involved in YLE's Morning TV. In the autumn of 2014, Kunnas competed in the ninth season of the program Dancing with the Stars. In May 2016, Kunnas suffered a stroke and was taken off sick. He returned to work in the fall of 2016, but left in 2017 due to his health condition. After his time as a sports journalist, he has been active as a travel guide in Spain. He is married to Gerd Kummel-Kunnas and they have two daughters. They live in Karis.
