John Weigand
The Biography
Mr. Weigand was born in New Orleans and graduated from Northwestern University with a Master's degree in Journalism. Throughout his school years, he actively pursued acting and musical theater. After college, Mr. Weigand served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy, which brought him to New York. After completing his service in the Navy, he pursued a career in marketing communications and was a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase. In his off-hours, he continued to pursue acting and singing, performing in venues that include Carnegie Hall, the concert halls of Lincoln Center, and the theaters of Broadway and Off-Broadway. In 2002, Mr. Weigand changed careers and became a full-time, professional actor on the stages of New York, as well as in theaters regional and international. Favorite roles include Harry in the Off-Broadway revival of "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn," Captain Andy in "Show Boat," and Mr. Twimble/Wally Womper in "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." His film credits include "The Immigrant" and the award-winning feature film, "Virgin Alexander." On TV, he's most often remembered for playing "Dr. Phil" on Comedy Central's "Chappelle's Show."
