
Fausto Espinoza Farfán
The Biography
Fausto Espinoza Farfán was born in Paucartambo, Cusco, in 1940 and died of cancer in the same city on September 13, 1996. He studied sculpture and painting at the National School of Fine Arts in Lima. He took film courses at the Armando Robles Godoy Film School, graduating in 1968. Between 1959 and 1969, he had seven solo exhibitions and participated in twelve group exhibitions. In 1960, he held his first exhibition of watercolors and oil paintings in Cusco. From 1961 to 1967, he held two solo drawing exhibitions and two more in the Netherlands. In 1984, he held a photography exhibition. As a director, screenwriter, producer, actor, cinematographer, and filmmaker, he participated in several productions, including short films, feature films, and television videos. He won a Coral Award at the Havana Film Festival (Cuba) in the documentary category.
