In order to stay in Moscow, biologist Pyotr Severin began working in the field of statistics. An unloved activity gave rise to self-doubt and disappointment in life. One day, a famous scientist and relative who came from the Far East offered him the position of head of an environmental laboratory. Peter agreed without hesitation. And later, having headed the local biological station, he entered into a serious conflict with the local timber industry...
