Alan Whicker’s 1969 Whicker's World documentary episode Papa Doc: The Black Sheep features a rare, chilling face-to-face interview with Haiti’s ruthless dictator, Dr. François "Papa Doc" Duvalier. Aired on June 17, 1969, as one of the inaugural programmes for Yorkshire Television. Alan Whicker famously gained access by walking up to the presidential palace in Port-au-Prince and sending a telex declaring, "Mr President, I am outside your door.”
