The Synopsis

In pre-independence Mexico, Lucía Cruz, a young peasant woman who longs for a free and just life, falls into a secret romance with Esteban de Alcázar, the son of the man who oppresses her people. As their love grows, Lucía will discover that her ideals and feelings are at odds, forcing her to make a decision that could change her fate forever.
