The first night of G1 Climax 36 took place on July 11, 2026, at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, marking the first time since 2019 that New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) opened its annual round-robin heavyweight tournament in the United States, and was headlined by an A Block match between Konosuke Takeshita and Yota Tsuji.
