The Synopsis

During the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty, the imperial court was rife with factional strife and the unchecked influence of eunuchs. One late night, Cui Si, a loyal follower of the eunuch faction, was found dead in his residence under mysterious circumstances. Enraged by the incident, the powerful eunuch Wei Zhongyuan ordered the Imperial Guards to investigate the matter thoroughly. Qianhu Xu Panxing assigned Chu Mo, a junior officer of the Imperial Guards, to lead the investigation. Though Chu Mo, a man of integrity, had always refused to collude with the eunuch faction, he had no choice but to accept the task. As he delved deeper into the case, he gradually uncovered a vast conspiracy lurking behind the scenes…
