The Synopsis

A nocturnal journey through the artistic wonders of Vatican City. Alberto Angela makes us discover famous monuments - such as the dome of St. Peter's, the sublime Pietà, the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel - and the gardens immersed in the quiet night. He takes us on the trail of the elderly Michelangelo and the young Raphael, also discovering places normally closed to the public such as the Secret Archive, the gendarmerie, the barracks of the Swiss Guards. He tells us a long story of power, spirituality and patronage that has also known dramatic moments. Thanks to the techniques of the scientific police - almost in a modern CSI - Alberto Angela will be able to revive the city of the Popes in a new light.
